Welcome - Thank you for visiting the website for the Brenda Kirby Cancer Centre. We have moved to 111 Chertsey Crescent, New Addington.
The Centre was inspired by former Mayor of Croydon and New Addington Councillor Brenda Kirby MBE, who suffered from incurable brain and lung cancer and finally lost her battle against cancer on September 28th 2014. When diagnosed, Mrs Kirby received support from the Royal Marsden and Croydon University Hospitals and the South East Care Centre in Purley. While she discovered the range of facilities on offer in Purley,
Brenda also realised there was nothing like it in New Addington. It is
difficult to get to Purley from New Addington, particularly by public
transport and therefore this charity was set up in order that an extra
centre in New Addington could be established. Whilst we work to achieve a Centre like the one in Purley, we have been busy establishing protocols and services that we can now offer to all those Living with Cancer and their relatives/ carers. We now offer:-
• Support & advice from a retired clinical nurse
specialist with over 40 years experience within
the cancer field.
• Advice on Benefits via Citizens Advice Bureau.
• Signposts to appropriate areas of help & advice.
• Reflexology & Reiki.
• Make up & nail care sessions.
• Nutrition advice.
• Energy & Crystal Healing.
• Art as Therapy. Starting in 2019 we will be holding Breast Cancer Awareness Groups - please let us know if you are interested in attending.
We cover Croydon and surrounding areas
